About the Publication
About Houston Yogis
Houston Yogis is a journal of movement, nature, and community — built to document the teachers, studios, organizers, and community spaces shaping Houston's yoga, meditation, and holistic health scene, and to give that community a lasting, photographic home outside of feeds that expire.
This is not a yoga studio's website. It is a local wellness publication — a sibling to Cadenza Arthouse, but with its own personality: calmer, more photographic, less newsroom and more journal.
“Houston's wellness community deserves documentation that outlasts the feed.”
What We Publish
Houston Yogis publishes original reporting, teacher profiles, event coverage, and photography across Houston's wellness community — and is built to grow beyond yoga into meditation, sound baths, gardening, tai chi, breathwork, herbalism, community markets, volunteer events, and music performances as the community it covers grows.
Editorial Values
Documentation
Classes end, events pass, and social posts disappear. We exist to give Houston's wellness community a lasting record.
Independence
Coverage decisions are editorial, not promotional — guided by community significance, not advertising relationships.
Community
We cover the instructors, studios, and organizers actively shaping Houston's wellness scene — especially those who'd otherwise go undocumented.
Calm, Not Clinical
Photographic and unhurried. Editorial, not promotional. We aim for a feeling, not just information.
Part of the Cadenza Network
Houston Yogis is a publication of Cadenza Arthouse, an independent media platform documenting culture, art, and community in Houston. The two publications share a publishing engine but not a personality on purpose — Cadenza is the record; Houston Yogis is the invitation.
If you teach, organize, or build something in Houston's wellness community that deserves to be part of the record — we want to hear from you.
